Actually Oregon now has so many different seasons that the hunting regs are 75 pages long. I have already used a week of my cow season, the first bull season
ended yesterday, the seacond bull season starts next week and I also have two weeks of cow season in December. I recall my 29 years of hunting in Montana when
we just had HUNTING SEASON! It was 5 weeks long and you shot any elk, deer etc during that time. Simple and effective. When I first moved there your hunting

Well, I have a week of early elk season and wasted yesterday. Not a track anywhere. I must shoot a cow and was not too hopeful but thought it would be nice to
get on in the freezer. Anyway, if you hunt elk very much, you will get used to hunting for a week and seeing nothing. But you also may have a day when you
could shoot a dozen! Anyway, friends came to visit, my son Joseph roasted a goat (underground) and we had a huge bonfire in the meadow. Two kegs of IPA, bbq

I shot a nice buck. About 50 yds, one shot in ribs with 30-06 and 150 grain Speer. He ran 100 yds and died on the shoulder of an old skid trail so I was able
to get the 4-wheeler up to him. Got home and skinned him. Joseph got home from 14 days on a forest fire so this morning I took him up there so he could hunt
